    For decades, India has pretended to stand in solidarity with Palestine, all while arming Israel's brutal occupation. The Indian government’s covert military ties with the Zionist regime date back to the 1960s, and under Modi, they’ve turned into a full-blown partnership of oppression. Today, India openly flaunts its bloody alliance with “Israel,” and is deepening its military, economic, and political ties. 

    A central part of this bloody alliance is the Tata Group—a giant of Indian capitalism—profiting from occupation, from Kashmir to Palestine. Behind its facade of "nation-building" and philanthropy, Tata fuels genocidal regimes both at home and abroad. From sending weapons to murder Palestinians to silencing indigenous voices in India, Tata’s empire is built on blood.

    We cannot stand by while Tata profits from genocide. 

    SALAM officially launched its #TataByeBye Campaign in October 2024. This campaign targets the deadly alliance between India and Israel, and the Indian capitalists profiting from the genocide of Palestinians. For decades, India has secretly armed Israel’s occupation while companies like Tata supply weapons, armored vehicles, banking, and IT infrastructure—like Project Nimbus, which fuels the Zionist surveillance state. 

    In 2025, #DropTCS was launched as an offshoot of the #TataByeBye Campaign. #DropTCS primarily targets Tata’s IT wing, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). TCS has a massive presence in the U.S. and profits from genocide while sponsoring major events like the New York City Marathon. 

    Our overarching campaign demands are as follows:

    1.     With immediate effect, we call on Tata to disclose all contracts with "Israel" and divest from the apartheid state.

    2.     For those working for Tata, we call on you to pressure Tata to disclose and divest the extent of their investments and relations in "Israel".

    3.     We call on companies/entities with ties to Tata to drop their relations until Tata divests from "Israel".

    4.     Call on New York Road Runners to end their contract with Tata Consulting Services (TCS), with immediate effect.

    It’s time to cut ties with corporations that fuel apartheid and genocide. From New York to Palestine, we will strike back!

  • The Union of Pinnacle Tenants (UPT) is the largest tenant-led union in NYC. It spans four boroughs, bringing tenants together from Crown Heights to Kingsbridge and Jackson Heights to Inwood.  UPT was born out of the Palestine Solidarity Working Group in the Crown Heights Tenants Union in order to organize with tenants in Pinnacle Group buildings, due to Pinnacle’s ties to Israel. 

    What is Pinnacle? 

    Pinnacle Group is a corporate landlord that has systematically purchased rent stabilized

    buildings in predominantly Black, immigrant, and working class neighborhoods of New

    York City with the aim to put them in disrepair, destabilize them, and then place them on the commercial market. It is owned by billionaire Joel Wiener, and is one of the largest landlords in NYC with around 140 buildings and 9,000 apartments across the city—that means it controls the housing of 15,000 New Yorkers. Pinnacle has raised over $500 million to purchase apartment buildings by issuing bonds on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange, where they are listed as Zarasai Group. The Israeli occupation’s banks and institutional investors lend Pinnacle money to buy, demolish, and build new buildings in New York, and Pinnacle pays them back interest on those loans.


    In 2025, Pinnacle filed for bankruptcy and placed more than 5000 of its rent stabilized apartments for sale, organizers jumped into action to prevent the sale and push towards tenant controlled buildings. Despite a massive organizing effort which successfully gained the support of the Mamdani administration, in early 2026, Summit Properties USA successfully acquired over 5,100 rent-stabilized NYC units from Pinnacle Group for $451.3 million following a bankruptcy auction. The deal includes 91 buildings in Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, and the Bronx. UPT, now with Summit tenants, is focusing on building up a base of tenants through tenant associations in buildings across the city while continuing to exert pressure on both landlords to follow through on repairs and maintenance.  

    SALAM is supporting UPT by offering support and coordination in Pinnacle and Summit buildings located in Queens, as part of a joint effort with Queens Tenant Coalition and Youth Alliance for Housing.
